Event Description:

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce joins the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce and others for Community Impact Day on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. With a goal of mobilizing thousands of volunteers across the state, the initiative is set to turn ripples of service into tidal waves of impact. Community businesses, teams, and individuals will have a chance to give back in meaningful ways.

The Jackson Community Foundation and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce have partnered locally to strengthen Community Impact Day by expanding resources and reach.

Through our partnership with the Jackson Community Foundation and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, we’re able to strengthen each of the 5 T’s, which include mobilizing more Time, unlocking greater Talent, expanding Treasure, amplifying Testimonies, and deepening the Ties that make Community Impact Day truly transformative.

The 5 Ts of Community Impact Day

Time: Showing up and giving your hours to serve others.
Talent: Using your unique skills to make a meaningful difference.
Treasure: Contributing financial or material resources that support the work.
Testimonies: Sharing stories that inspire, inform, and encourage continued impact.
Ties: Building relationships and strengthening connections within the community.

From hands-on service projects to community clean-ups, there are countless ways for volunteers to make a difference. Nonprofits that serve causes including advocacy & justice; arts, culture & environment; children & family services; community development; diversity, equity & inclusion; education & skills training; faith & spiritual support; health & wellness; youth development or related areas are encouraged to apply.

In preparation for the event, the Jackson Chamber is opening the non-profit application for Jackson County non-profits to submit volunteer opportunities. Any local non-profit can apply, understanding Chamber member non-profit organizations will be prioritized when filling a project with volunteers.

CALL FOR NON-PROFIT PROJECTS

To be considered, each non-profit organization must complete our online project form, providing a brief description of the volunteer project or tasks, proposed location(s), site-leader contact information, number of volunteers needed per task and any tools or materials volunteers might need. Submitting a request does not guarantee placement or specific volunteer numbers. Final participation will be confirmed by the Chamber.

We need you! Whether you’re an individual or a large team, collective office or group who just wants to give back; there are opportunities for you.

The Chamber will match volunteers with the projects that fit them best by connecting their passions and strengths with the needs of the non-profits; ensuring everyone serves where they feel energized and effective. Sign up today to choose the action areas that speaks to you and make your impact count. Projects will vary in type and duration throughout the day. On the day of the event, you’ll also get a volunteer t-shirt.

THE CELEBRATION

All volunteers and organizations who participate will be invited to join The Chamber and the Jackson Community Foundation afterward for a collective celebration to share testimonies and reflect on the impact we’ve created together. More details to come.
